South Vermillion Coaching Staff
Greg Barrett - Head Coach
Coach Greg Barrett began his coaching career in 1996 at West Vigo High School. He also held collegiate level coaching positions with Indiana State University and Rose Hulman Institute of Technology. In 2001 Coach Barrett, as assistant coach, helped coach Bishop Dowling Catholic High School to the Iowa State Championship. Upon his return to Indiana in 2003 he coached Terre Haute North and North Putnam High School, leading North Putnam to the Indiana State Championship game in 2010.
Coach Barrett is a 1991 graduate of West Vigo High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education in 1997 from Indiana State University, where he was a member of the Sycamore Football Team. He received his Masters in Coaching in 2017 from his alma mater.

Dan Vukovits - Offensive Coordinator
Coach Vukovits started coaching at Rockville High School in 1984. He was named head coach in 1986 and his teams produced 85 victories, 2 sectional championships, and 4 conference championships. He was the assistant coach at North Terre Haute and North Putnam with Coach Barrett, where their team finished State Runner Up in 2010. Coach Vukovits is a graduate of Butler University and recently retired after teaching in the Rockville School Corporation for over 30 years.

Andy Guinn - Special Teams
Coach Guinn is a 2000 graduate of South Vermillion and received his degree in Physical Education from Indiana State University. He has been the South Vermillion Track and Field coach since 2012 and joined the Wildcat Football program in 2017.
Jim Crosley - Offensive Line Coach
Coach Crosley brings 16 years of coaching experience to the Wildcat Football program. He is a 1968 graduate of Rockville High School where he played football, basketball, baseball and ran track. he was attending Ball State University when he was drafted into the US Army and served our country during the Vietnam War. He's been married to his wife Jayne, a retired school teacher, for 37 years.

Kyle Stewart - Offensive / Defensive Line Coach
​
Coach Stewart has 6 years of coaching experience at Turkey Run High School and South Vermillion, where he has coached multiple positions. He is a 2002 graduate of Turkey Run and a 2005 graduate of Vincennes University. He has been married to his lovely wife Stephanie for 7 years and has one daughter, Aubrey.

Lee James - Defensive Backs Coach

Coach James has 7 years experience coaching football at the high school level for multiple positions. He is a 2002 graduate of South Vermillion and attended Wabash College where he played football for the Little Giants. Coach James has been married to his lovely wife Ashley for 10 years and they have one son, Colten.
Pat Hanceweits - Wide Receivers Coach
Coach Hancewicz began coaching wide receivers at Terre Haute North High School in 2009. He is a graduate of Franklin College where he played football from 2005-2009. Coach Hancewicz has been a teacher in the Vigo County School Corporation since 2013.
Bryan Holland - JV Coach
Coach Holland was recently named JV coach. Coming to us from the middle school, Coach Holland has many years of experience coaching and brings a wealth of knowledge. We look forward to the many great things from JV this year!

Terry Eup - Defensive Line Coach
Coach Eup has concentrated his 9+ years of football coaching experience to the offensive and defensive line. He is a 1983 graduate of South Vermillion where he played four years of football as a center, long-snapper, and nose-tackle. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served on the U.S.S Nimitz for two years and participated on the U.S.S. Nimitz wrestling team. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Deb, for 32 years.

Brett Gilman - Defensive Backs / Wide Receivers Coach

Coach Gilman is actively involved in athletics at South Vermillion and has been coaching or assisting with basketball, baseball, and football since 1990. He is a 1985 graduate of South Vermillion and lifelong Clinton resident. He has been married to his lovely wife Dona for 27 years and they have three daughters: Lexy, Livy, and Lainy.

Kenny Kerns - "The Legend " - Director of Football Operations
Coach Kerns has 25 years of coaching experience. He has coached football, wrestling, baseball, and golf. Following his retirement he returned to coaching after Coach Barrett convinced him of a great opportunity to become part of the Wildcat Football Program.
